Found a way to cast an object which doesn’t exist… The resultant of a pair of tensioned screens holding some input objects; generates a two-part mould with no undercuts to be used for further casting.
To be used in a less abstract manner to create the ground of my 1:50 models - pairs of plaster casts in cabinets, whose form will be based on a more designed positive input.
I believe that by intervening with tensioned screens, the resultant casts will incorporate notions of the resistance of materials, an essential real-world driver generally lacking from digital modelling.
Once the ground objects are generated, their surfaces will be analysed to discover appropriate flat pattern templates for fabric formworks.
